President's Message --
June 2008
It is hard to believe that a year has passed since I took office as the Dallas CPCU Chapter Presi-dent. The time has passed quickly, but a lot has been accomplished. The Chapter reached sev-eral milestones this year.
Our Chapter is a very large one, and we have many activities during the year. Some involve the full membership, and others involve just a few members. I hope you have been in at least one of these groups and enjoyed the camaraderie, the spirit of helping, and sense of accomplishment in the Chapter activities.
Each year the Chapter can submit its application for the Circle of Excellence Award. This award is based on our activities and our accomplishments, and we have been repeat winners of this award. This award speaks to the quality of the Dallas Chapter and the variety of ideas. I encourage you to go to our Chapter website and see our COE award application and all that we have done as a Chapter this year.
Here are some of the milestones we’ve passed this year:
-Celebration of our 60th Anniversary
-Graduated the largest group of New Designees in our history
-Largest amount donated to a charity from our annual golf funds
-Continuation of CPCU and INS classes so that we had classes running all year
- Moved from the ranking of ―large‖ chapter to ―jumbo‖ chapter
-Accounting controls put in place
The credit for these accomplishments goes to our many talented and dedicated volunteers work-ing as officers, directors, committee chairs, and committee members. All of these people have given their time and efforts despite busy jobs and demands on them. We have an awesome membership, and it has been a wonderful experience working with each of you.
I would like to thank you for the privilege of serving as your President. It has been an honor, and an experience I will not forget.
I hope all of you have a great summer and get some time off with your families. I look forward to seeing you all after our summer break.
Best Wishes to you all,
Susan Tanner
